Review: The Atlas Moth — The Old Believer
June 2nd, 2014 at 9:15am

With their third full-length, The Atlas Moth rocket way beyond the high expectations built by 2011’s lauded An Ache for the Distance. The Chicago five-piece double down on their dream-psych atmosphere, Isis-meets-Deftones triple-guitar action, and hellish black-metal shriek with more epic arrangements, tasteful keyboard lines, and stentorian clean vocals courtesy of guitarist David Kush. Guest appearances from Gojira’s Joe Duplantier and Subrosa violinists Sarah Pendleton and Kim Pack add extra nuance to an already dense masterpiece. J. BENNETT
