Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe Appears In Prague Court As Manslaughter Trial Begins

randyblytheontrialLamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe appeared in a Prague, CZE court today, February 04th, as his manslaughter trial commenced. The charges he is facing stem from the fatal injuries suffered by 19 year old stage diving fan Daniel Nosek at a 2010 show the band played in the aforementioned city. The prosecution argure that Blythe had onstage physical interaction(s) with the fan which ultimately resulted in his death due to head injuries.

Blythe has been out on bail for some time now after being detained in the aforementioned city last summer in relation to the charges. True to his word he returned to court to attend the trial, sharing the following photo earlier today on his Instagram with the caption:

“And so it begins. I am calm & prepared. Everyone, thanks for your good thoughts and prayers. Have a nice day, y’all!”

Various Czech media have been covering the event, quoting Blythe as having stated “I never sawDaniel and I never came in contact with him.” Both Blythe‘s bandmate Chris Adler and the bands management also gave testimony in regards to Blythe‘s character, stating that he isn’t an aggressive man.

These were made to counter what appears to be the prosecutions psychological profile of Blythe as an “aggressive and antisocial personality”. Blythe himself is said to have stated: “I’m only aggressive on stage, it’s part of the concert. We participate in charitable activities. I sold one of our Grammys at auction and donated the proceeds to research on children’s muscle atrophy. I contributed to breast cancer research.”

Meanwhile a man named George Choros identified as a “cinematographer” appears to have been brought in to testify that it was not Nosek that Blythe was shown to have interactions with in the widely circulated footage that originally circulated following Blythe‘s arrest.

Interestingly, Blythe‘s poor eyesight was also touched upon with an expert apparently testifying thatBlythe can regularly only see “silhouettes” during the bands performances. Blythe‘s legal team are also have said to been arguing that security at the venue was inadequate as well.

The family of the deceased are seeking compensation of 10 million Czech Koruna—roughly $530,000 U.S. dollars in connection with the charges. The trial is set to conclude on February 08th. Video reports from the preliminary proceedings can be found at both Novinky.cz and Blesk.cz.

Lamb Of God Returns Home From Europe: Alleged Footage Of Incident Surfaces

Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton took to his Twitter last night for the following update on his bandmate Randy Blythe‘s release from custody in Prague, Czech Republic on manslaughter charges. Those charges stem from the death of a 19 year old fan at a show the band played in Prague back in 2010.

“finally HOME! 4/5 of us anyway. I cant wait to give Randy a big bear hug & kiss his pointy, stubbly face! Thanx for all the support yall! Flooded w/ questions about Randy. I truly understand & appreciate ur concern. But it would be irresponsible for me to comment on any of it. again….thank yall SOOOO much for your love & support during these difficult times. It means the world to us.”

According to recent reports, Blythe will be able to return home tomorrow, July 02nd, after officially posting bail. In the meantime, you can check out a new Czech TV news report on the situation, which features alleged footage of the incident, at Nova.cz. Slow motion-footage from the aforementioned broadcast has since surfaced and can be seen below:

Lamb Of God Frontman Randy Blythe Arrested on Allegations of Manslaughter in Prague

Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe has been arrested in Prague on charges of manslaughter.

This serious allegation stems from an altercation at a May 2010 concert where a fan leapt on stage and got into a physical confrontation with Blythe. The injuries the fan acquired during the incident that resulted in the fan’s death are being attributed to Blythe.

Adrenaline PR, the Lamb of God publicist released this expanded official statement, painting a more defined picture of what happened:

“Lamb of God Management will be issuing an official statement on Monday regarding the charges made against singer Randy Blythe. As no formal charges have yet been made and the case is only in the investigation stages, it would be premature to make an official statement filled with false truths or innuendos.

“Having said that, management wished to address today one false piece of information that has been included in many of the news stories released so far. Under no circumstances was there a fight of any kind involved. This incident deals with a fan that three times during the concert jumped the barricade and rushed Randy during the performance. It is alleged that the third time, security was not able to reach him and that Randy pushed him back into the audience where supposedly he fell and hit his head.

“Again, until the investigation is concluded this weekend, nothing more will be released, but clarity and the facts needed to be addressed on this one reported point which is totally inaccurate.”
